Penn Collins
President & CEO
Penn Collins oversees the strategic operations of the firm after having spent more than a decade managing the underwriting, financial, and legal processes, as well as overseeing the hotel brand and third-party operator development efforts. Penn has worked on the development teams of the W Hollywood Hotel and Residences, W Dallas Hotel and Residences, and overseen conceptual, pre-development, and underwriting efforts out of the firm’s Dallas office. Prior to his work at Gatehouse, Penn served as an estimator for Webcor Builders, setting budgets for hospitality-focused mixed-use projects in the southern California marketplace. He received an undergraduate degree in Finance from Southern Methodist University before earning a Masters Degree from The Hotel School at Cornell University with concentrations in Real Estate Finance and Restaurant Development.

Karen McGahen
CFO, Corporate Administration
Since 1999, Ms. McGahen has been responsible for all the Gatehouse Capital accounting and administrative duties, as well as human resources and risk management. Before joining Gatehouse, she was director of planning at a financial services company. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in business from St. Mary's University and University of Dallas, respectively.

Colin McDonald
Vice President, Development
Mr. McDonald is in charge of all underwriting and financial analysis and takes primary responsibility of the Gatehouse P3 Platform. He has been active in the hospitality industry for over 30 years beginning his career in consulting, first with Peat Marwick in Sydney and then with PKF in Toronto. He joined Four Seasons Hotels as Director of Development in 1992. In 2005 he moved to Dallas to take the position as Vice President Development with Accor North America and was responsible for brand activity in US and Canada covering Novotel and Sofitel brands. Colin holds an undergraduate degree from University of NSW in Applied Sciences and an MBA from the Australian School of Management.

Alejandro Garza
Vice President, Development
Alejandro executes due diligence activities, financial underwriting and project management at Gatehouse Capital. He also oversees the firm's finance and development pipeline for Mexican projects. He has five years of construction experience and has held several financial positions in the past. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master in Finance from Tecnologico de Monterrey and a Masters in Real Estate from Cornell University.

Scott Stevenson
Senior Vice President, Construction & Design
Scott Stevenson has served as the principal manager of construction and design since joining Gatehouse in 2000, having managed over $800MM of hotel development in that time period. His prior experience includes management roles with Western International, Hines, and Austin Commercial. Scott has a diverse array of hotel brand experience inclusive of Le Meridien, W Hotels, Westin, Courtyard by Marriott, Hilton Home2, Residence Inn, and Kimpton. He holds a law degree from Texas Wesleyan, graduate studies in construction management from Texas A&M, and a B.A. from West Texas A&M University.
